Bianca Currey

Bianca Currey is a contemporary artist working on Cammeraygal Land (Sydney, NSW, Australia), holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW. Reviving the Romantic landscape tradition through a contemporary expressionist lens, her practice explores the emotional and psychological relationships between humanity and the natural world.

Her paintings are characterised by layered brushwork, atmospheric colour, and immersive landscapes that move between abstraction and representation.

Drawing inspiration from precarious ecological environments, fungal systems, wetlands, and personal experiences of healing, Currey creates emotionally charged compositions that explore vulnerability, transformation, and renewal.

Her practice is grounded in the belief that vulnerability and hope often bloom together. In Currey’s recent series, she doesn’t simply carry the landscape, the landscape carries her.
